Article explores data concerning youth living at Caju, Rio de Janeiro

A new paper by Malcolm Bush, research fellow at the Chapin Hall Center at the University of Chicago and research consultant at CIESPI, analyses detailed information about the home background, school, education, and job status of a sample of almost 900 young people in the Rio de Janeiro low-income neighborhood of Caju. The report points out that even within one low-income neighborhood, family background plays a critical role in young people’s school and work success as does gender.
